London Short Film Festival returns for its 15th year with our most ambitious, rich and reactive programme of our decade and a half, stretching what a short film is and can do.

Through 10 days of short film and special events, we take stock of a challenging 2017, turning our focus to filmmakers on the fringes at their most formidable and uncompromising -  from the only known filmic work of Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad, The House Is Black**, on restored 35mm, to the caustic wit and knowing provocation ofChris Kraus, to the early short films of respective auteurs Lucile Hadžihalilović, Barbara Hammerand Ngozi Onwurah, to our very own **With Teeth filmmakers premiering their commissions spanning ethnography and structuralism.

This is, of course, all wrapped up with the traditional New Shorts offerings of cutting edge short filmmaking we’ve become synonymous with throughout our 15 years, and we close the festival with both a panel and performance in ode to Home Girls, fronted by Hackney’s Paigey Cakey and paying homage to London’s legacy of female MCs.
