We are excited to announce the 8 films nominated for the Best UK Short Film (as sponsored by the British Council) at the 11th London Short Film Festival. The Festival recieved around 1200 UK submissions this year, and we have selected around 350 to screen across 32 programmes. Making the nominations choice was tough, with so many films that we’re proud to be screening, and with so much UK talent out there.
The Festival prides itself on championing original talent, where filmmakers go against convention, and seek out new ways of telling stories. All 8 films tick those boxes. All 8 films surprised and excited us. The nominations cross genres and styles, with animation, comedy, experimental drama and social realism. We don’t want to give too much away here but recommend that you come and see them on the big screen.
