LoCo London Comedy Film Festival call for features
LoCo is hosting the first London Comedy Film Festival from 26-29 January 2012. The Festival will feature a variety of new films, including US, UK and international features.
One of the most important strands of the Festival is called Discoveries. We are looking for new British comedy features that do not currently have distribution, which will be shortlisted for a screening at the Festival in January.
We are accepting submissions until 1st December, after which the submissions will be narrowed down to a shortlist of 3-5, which will be announced at the beginning of January. One of the shortlist will then be screened at the Festival. Features must be 70 minutes or more in length, and should have been completed (if not shot) in 2011.

A new short film commissioning opportunity. Get your dance short commissioned and broadcast on Channel 4!
Big Dance and Channel 4 in association with BAFTA present an opportunity for choreographers and filmmakers to work together and create 5 short films to be broadcast on Channel 4 and screen to live audiences during Big Dance Week 2012. In order to stimulate and encourage collaboration between the filmmakers and choreographers, Big Dance Shorts will offer the chance for filmmakers (directors or producers or teams thereof) and choreographers (or choreographic teams with filmmakers on board) to get their film idea commissioned. 5 films will be commissioned in total.
After the initial application process, 10 projects will be selected to pitch to a panel of experts and the 5 strongest projects will receive £4,000 and a package of support to make their film, including support from a BAFTA mentor and guidance from an experienced Production Executive. The films will be broadcast on Channel 4 as part of the ‘Random Acts’ season and will also be screened as part of the Big Dance Pop-Up Cinema programme in summer 2012 at a high profile central London location.
This is an exciting opportunity to explore the unique ability of film to capture dance and communicate to mass audiences. It aims to develop the craft practice of filming dance by encouraging filmmakers to work with choreographers.

Whether a fun quirky portrait or an observational access piece, Current are looking for films that touch on the themes of Revolution, subversive action and protest.
Pears Short Film Fund at UK Jewish Film
Each year the Pears Short Film Fund at UK Jewish Film offers two filmmakers £10,000 to make a short film that has a Jewish theme or relevance to both a Jewish and a broader audience.
28th Hamburg International Short Film Festival, call for entries
A year has passed and the time for tentative day dreaming, virtual plans and infinite delays is over. Only you can make the whole of Hamburg watch in awe and rub its eyes in disbelief from 29 May to 04 June 2012.
66th Edinburgh International Film Festival, call for entries
Submissions are open for the 2012 Festival that will take place from 20 June to 1 July. Have you recently completed a feature film or short? Want to see your film on the big screen, have industry people buzzing about it and press heralding it? Of course you do!
