Jamie Stone trained in fine art and went on to study at the National Film & Television School. His graduate film, Skyborn, involved flying machines, pyrotechnics, miniatures and chickens, and was nominated for a student Oscar. Working across documentaries, animation and live-action drama, Jamie was named in 2012 as a Screen ‘Star of Tomorrow’. Selected for the BFI Shorts scheme, he is currently working on Orbit Ever After, a sci-fi romance about two star-crossed lovers. In this session, Jamie will discuss how he has used a combination of antiquated in-camera techniques with digital VFX to achieve big budget production values not often seen in the short form format.
