'Catherine' is an exploration of loneliness and unconventional love. A man keeps the body of an 'unconscious' girl in his flat and treats her as his girlfriend. He bathes her, cares for her and has sex with her. He's desperate to be close to her, but soon the reality of his situation hits home.
