The English is a haunting exploration of memory and abandonment reverberating through the lives of a mother and son. Deborah Tiso's film contrasts two key moments in a mans life, bother centering around deprivation. Beautifully shot and with an acute eye for the details of the repressed emotions of it's characters the film is a study in loss.
