Teenager Priya lives in Ilford with her devout mother, Mrs Shah, in a suburban household that revolves around the worship of the ancient Hindu idols. However, Priya longs for the glamour of Bollywood and, to her mother's dismay, worships only the comically dashing Indian action hero Cosmo Basmati. When Cosmo comes to town, their conflicting attitudes come to a head.
