Electrovision

20:00 Sat 14 Jan 2012

Roxy Bar & Screen

Electrovision is a night dedicated to live audio-visual performances and aims to create a special place for this emerging art form. In particular, the focus is on performances that tell a story, have a consistent theme, generate a strong atmosphere or have a striking aesthetic. Currently London’s only regular night exploring live cinema, Electrovision is becoming known as the capital’s most inventive visual event.

The night will featuring live-cinema and narrative performances by blinkinLab, Mia Makela and Eyesonthewall, as well as a screening of KOZMOZ, a short documentary about Yuri Gagarin with music by British electronica group Unkle.

blinkinLAB is the collective name of Tom and Satoko Wall who work together to create motion graphics and concert visuals. This performance will focus on visualising their own ambient electronic soundscapes through an exploration of architectural and mechanical forms.

Mia Makela works in the fields of real-time audiovisual performance, experimental video and documentary. Her visual language has a mystical dream-like narrative approach and has been described as a digital version of William Blake’s poetry.

Eyesonthewall will perform ‘‘REGENESIS’, an experimental and fluid synthesis of the analogue and digital, the improvisational and participatory elements.

Noname presents Echoes, a distorted voice telling us who we are and what we want, a world of dreams and nightmares.
