Salon des Refusés
15:00 Sun 15 Jan 2012
Salon des Refusés is a subversive experiment in film curation with a simple philosophy – they only screen short films that have been rejected by other film Festivals.
Their aim is to highlight the subjectivity of the programming proess, and to destabilise the idea that there are “good” shorts (which appear at Festivals) and “bad” shorts (which don’t). The Salon celebrates the diversity of the short film format and offers an alternative space for its exhibition, as a challenge to the standard Festival shorts programme.
As part of the 9th London Short Film Fetsival, the Salon will curate a programme of shorts that were submitted to, but not accepted by the LSFF. These are excellent quality shorts, that we feel should absolutely have the chance to screen.
Come along to see the underside of the LSFF!
