15:00 Wed 25 Sep 2013
With Sam Bain, Ol Parker,Tina Gharavi and Andrea Cornwell
Chaired by Will Massa
A panel of BAFTA-nominated writers Sam Bain (Peep Show, Four Lions, Fresh Meat), Ol Parker (Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) and Tina Gharavi (I Am Nasrine) will give newer writers practical advice on working as a writer in the UK before offering feedback on the audiences’ projects. They will be joined by producer Andrea Cornwell (The Scouting Book For Boys and upcoming Suite Francaise for director Saul Dibb) who will offer up advice on how independent producers work with writers to develop and finance projects. Across two sessions, the panel will first talk about the craft of screenwriting in a chaired discussion about the creative and business questions around writing for film and television before offering live feedback to the audience on their projects. Prior to the session, audience members will have a chance to submit a brief synopsis of their project in advance for the opportunity to be selected to receive live feedback from the panel on their project.
