A programme of short films reflecting life in modern India and Pakistan. Drama and documentary feature in this selection, from the rural villages of a remote India to the India of the cosmopolitan city where life isn’t always what it seems.
We welcome some of the filmmakers to the Ritzy screening only to discuss their experiences of filming in India.

Kal features images captured in two Indian towns - Macleod Ganj, home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government in exile, and the highly spiritual town of Varanasi, the most favourable place to die according to Hinduism. A reworking of a renowned sanskrit chant provides the backdrop for this film. -
