An Evening of Music Documentary

LSFF brings together a selection of short music docs. We present a selection of international documentaries in conjunction with Cardiff’s Soundtrack music and film festival, plus further shorts from LSFF’s open submissions. The evening will culminate with a live acoustic set by The Highly Skilled Migrants, stars of THE NONSENSE EXPRESS.
THE NONSENSE EXPRESS is an independently produced documentary film about a London band that attempt to tour Russia and Belarus with bizarre and unexpected results. The film creatively combines HD footage and animated hand-drawn ink illustrations.
The Soundtrack International Film and Music Festival celebrates the distinctive relationship between music and the moving image and takes place across Cardiff & Newport each November, featuring a packed programme of screenings, masterclasses, Q&A’s, workshops and exceptional live performances. LSFF partnered up with the Festival on their Best Short Music Documentary Award, and tonight present the 5 nominated films.

When Sasha eventually takes his wounded pride of musicians back to his childhood home in Belarus, the stage is set for an unexpectedly moving finale. -
