As the number of digital platforms for short film exhibition and exploitation increase, film festivals are seeing growth in both submissions and audience numbers. Having moved well beyond the ‘either/or’ model, what does the current landscape look like? Drawing on the expertise of a visiting delegation of European film festival programmers, this panel will attempt a little future gazing: How is the exhibition landscape evolving for festivals on digital platforms? What does this mean for filmmakers, and how can they strategize for the future?
