ONE FOR TEN: A TALL ORDER FOR SHORT DOCS
19:00 Tue 14 Jan 2014
One For Ten is an interactive online documentary series about the death penalty and innocence. During April and May of 2013, directors Will Francome and Mark Pizzey and producers Laura Shacham and Megan Garner, travelled America, making 10 films in 5 weeks during a 5500-mile road trip. Each film told the story of a different person who had spent time on death row before being proven innocent and released. Highlighting the ten most common issues with the death penalty, each film was shot, edited and uploaded in under 48 hours allowing the audience to submit the interview questions and shape the films as they went. Danny Glover, Jeremy Irons, Lily Tomlin and others introduce each of the 6-7 minute films.
In this special LSFF event, directors Will Francome and Mark Pizzey and producer Laura Shacham share the motivations, mechanics and reverberations of the project with a particular look at technology’s role.
