NEW SHORTS: Sketch Night [+ live comedy] (in association with Short Sighted Cinema)

19:30 Fri 16 Jan 2015

Hackney Picturehouse, Hackney Attic

Tickets: £10

Quick fire comedy with laughs galore in the hilarious selection of short shorts. Tonight’s 15 sketch films include Jeff Leach in GERRY’S GARDEN, Tim Key in TWO FILMS ABOUT LONELINESS, and Kid Acne in ZEBRA FACE.

In collaboration with Short Sighted Cinema, we present the films alongside uproarious live comedy, an assemblage of stand-up, skit and sketch acts freshly plucked from London’s comedy scene:

Joey Page has spent the last few years bouncing around the comedy circuit, supporting the likes of Josie Long and  Noel Fielding and appearing on shows such as BBC 3’s comedy marathon, Nevermind the Buzzcocks and Noel Fielding’s Luxury comedy.

September 2014: Comedian, John Henry Falle (the hairiest one off critically acclaimed sketch idiots, The Beta Males) went missing in the woods. What came back was The Story Beast. So light the fires and slaughter your livestock as this “bearded force of nature” (Guardian) opens his rattle-bag of demented tales, terrifying ritual and unrelenting Anglo-Saxon lolz to show you the secret entrails of the universe.

Lazy Susan make fun, character driven sketch-comedy with smatterings of the dark and surreal but always plenty of heart. Or at least, that’s the plan. Nominated for Best Newcomers at the 2014 Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
