Inspired by a poem by actress Emily Bevan (Amy Dyer in the BBC3 BAFTA nominated 'In The Flesh), NO STRINGS is about a man and woman attempting to have a no strings relationship without success. The film was shot at Ott's Yard in Kentish Town, London, which was designed by all female award-winning architecture practice vPPR. The director Anna Jones has moved across from theatre directing to film and this is one of her first films. -

The script is based on a part of Mikołaj Smyk’s diary — the director’s grandfather. The biographical objects used in the animation help situate the story in its original environment and express the atmosphere of the times. -
