  • END OF SUMMER

Jóhann Jóhannsson 28 mins (UK, 2015)

Shot on black and white super 8 film, Jóhann Jóhannsson’s ‘End of Summer’ is a hypnotic and slow-burning dérive through the austere landscapes of the island of South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula. Filmed as a series of mostly static tableaux over a period of 20 days during the waning days of the Antarctic Summer, the film is a startling look at life at the edge of the world.
  • FROM NURSERY TO MISERY

Matthew Reed 16 mins (UK, 2015)

Gina and Tina Fear are identical twins and musicians who live together in the woods. Now in their forties, the film explores the unlikely story of their teenage band 'From Nursery To Misery' and the eccentric life they share together.
  • KAAMOS

Katie Goodwin 26 mins (UK, 2015)

A London artist goes on a winter sejourn to Suomenlinna. The film weaves together a series of darker moments with lighter observations on cultural difference unwinding a tale of a turbulently psychological experience. The second part follows the artist to Lapland to experience the Kaamos. As if in respite for the lack of sun, the Aurora Borealis appears.
  • KACEY MOTTET KLEIN, BIRTH OF AN ACTOR

Ursula Meier 14 mins (UK, 2015)

A body is growing and developing in front of the camera, absorbing sensations and emotions, confronting its limits and its darker hidden parts. A body that through the years abandons itself to the character, transforming what could be seen as simple (child's) play-acting into the true work of an actor. A portrait of an adolescent who has created himself with the camera
  • MINING POEMS OR ODES

Callum Rice 10 mins (UK, 2015)

Robert Fullerton, an ex-shipyard welder from Govan in Glasgow, reflects on how his life experiences have influenced his new found compulsion to write. He has put aside his tools for pen and paper
  • MOUSE

Ben Williams 3 mins (UK, 2015)

Mouse explains his passion for dance. Since his first exposure to the bboy scene Mouse has been perfecting his dance for the last 18 years performing with the likes of Madonna and winning the prestigious UK BBOY Champs. But for him it's not about the competition events all the time. It is not about what gig you get booked, or how many times you get flown out. It's not about what you can take, but what you can GIVE by using your talent.
  • MY BRIEF ETERNITY: AR AWYR LE

Clare Sturges 13 mins (UK, 2015)

My Brief Eternity documents the making of the last artistic work of Osi Rhys Osmond, which he chose to create for Maggie’s cancer charity. In this intimate portrayal, Osi explores art as a prism for capturing life, and the creative process as a metaphor for living and dying – managing to inspire even in the face of his own imminent death.
  • THE REINVENTION OF NORMAL

    Liam Saint-Pierre 8 mins (UK, 2015)

"Go straight off the wall" said his dad, and Dominic does just that. The film follows Dominic Wilcox, an artist/ inventor/ designer, on his quest for new ideas....Transforming the mundane and ordinary into something surprising, wondrous and strangely thought provoking.
  • URSULA SNAKES

Noemi Varga 3 mins (UK, 2015)

A short portrait of Ursula Snakes, East London based drag queen.
