OPENING NIGHT: Long Live The New Flesh!
19:30 Fri 6 Jan 2017
The Moog Sound Lab UK featuring Fay Milton & Ayse Hassan (Savages) and Dubka
LSFF team up with Moog Sound Lab UK to host a live performance from Fay Milton & Ayse Hassan (Savages) joined by London Producer and modular synth genius Martin Dubka (Circle Sky) to experiment with analogue sound-scaping, synthesis and effects.
-
The Moog Sound Lab UK gives musicians the chance to experiment with a whole roomful of vintage Moog equipment, originally made by Dr Robert Moog in 1964. Countless artists in the subsequent decades since have used Moogs or Moog-inspired sounds as a central part of their music, and tonight’s live performance will be an analogue synth lovers dream!
-
With an anthemic quality alongside heavy doses of the rhythmic jaggedness and angularity of British post-punk, Savages have released two critically acclaimed albums, both nominated for a Mercury Award. Fay Milton and Ayse Hassan join us for an exclusive live performance!
- Martin Dubka is a London based producer; as a musician he has toured the world with Cazals and Daft Punk, built a reputation for performing improvised live modular sets and is currently finishing Circle Sky’s debut album with Richard Norris. His production work includes Tyson, Ali Love, Kiwi, Tesla Boy, Rory Phillips and Lou Hayter.
16mm visual projections byDavid Leister (Kino Club) & Bea Haut (Analogue Recurring)****, supplying multiple loops, archive film, and experimental imagery on various screens and surfaces throughout the venue.
