Through a glass darkly: ghosts, Victoriana, dark family secrets and fairy tales abound in these gothic-tinged stories for a dark winter’s night. From Victorian post-mortem portraits, to the sinister photography of South African artist Roger Ballen, to the sexual secrets of a small village community and the strange story of Brancusi’s sculpture of Marie Bonaparte.
