US short story writer Raymond Carver (1938 – 1988) is best known in cinema for the 1993 Robert Altman film Short Cuts, but with hundreds of short stories from across many published collections, LSFF is screening a programme of Carver short film adaptations. These three films will highlight the short story form adapted to the cinema, and will be followed by a panel discussion about Carver and adaptation, and will feature former Bloomsbury commissioning editor and an early UK publisher of Carver’s poems, Bill Swainson, and hosted by Jo Duncombe.
