Fotia is an experiential documentary observing the tradition of Rouketopolemos on the small island of Chios, Greece where two churches on opposing hillsides celebrate Easter by firing over 100,000 homemade rockets at the other. Young men dedicate all year to making and hiding rockets, for them this is their life. On Easter Sunday, both churches declare victory and agree to settle the dispute next year, the tradition continues…

Once in Orgosolo is set deep in the cloudy hills of Sardinia, in a small shepherding town famous for it’s murals. Deeply traditional, the town’s residents still speak their own form of Sardinian; young men gallop up and down the cobbled streets on horseback, and women dress in black. This short documentary explores how residents use story and memory to make sense of their lives.
