BREXIT SHORTS: Dramas From A Divided Nation
19:00 Sun 14 Jan 2018
Plus special guest performance and panel
To mark the one year anniversary of the EU referendum, The Guardian and Headlong Theatre teamed up to create short dramas set across the UK. Prominent scriptwriters, including Abi Morgan and Maxine Peake, were commissioned to write short scripts performed by well-known actors - from Kristin Scott Thomas to Penelope Wilton to Nasser Memarzia - from each region. Each script was filmed on location with a diverse range of characters who highlight the nation’s growing divisions at a moment of seismic political change.
Along with a screening of 9 films, we will have a performance on stage by author and performer A.L. Kennedy (Day, winner of the Costa Prize, Everything You Need, *W*hat Becomes) reading Permanent Sunshine, followed by a panel discussion with Jess Gormley and Noah Payne-Frank from The Guardian, and Amy Hodge from Headlong Theatre.
