INDUSTRY: Masterclass: Finding (Found) Footage
16:00 Thu 17 Jan 2019
Found footage filmmaking is as ubiquitous as ever, but as contemporary understandings of the archive shift in a digital age, where does the law figure? Is everything up for grabs? And just how do we gain access to these seemingly impenetrable archives, both physical and online? We interrogate the legality and ethics of making film with digital and analogue archive footage with its keepers and creatives. In partnership with Open City Documentary Festival, chaired by Festival Director Chloe Trayner.
PANELLISTS: Sarah Wood (Filmmaker, The Stanley Kubrick Archive Artist-in-Residence), Sarah Brown (Filmmaker), Simon McCallum (BFI Archive), Bartolomeo Meletti (Copyright Education Creative Director, CREATe, University Of Glasgow)
