House Guests is shot in animation and timelapse, at the house of Rudyard Kipling in Vermont, the only house he ever built himself. The house remains furnished with his library and furniture and many of his objects and pictures. The camera travels through the spaces, from the Victorian boilers in the basement to the Jungle Book objects in the attic and animates and intersperses other objects and occurrences, luring the spectres of past events and occupants out of the silent walls and objects.
