PROEM (TO BROOKLYN BRIDGE)
Suzie Hanna
2014
3 mins
American poet Hart Crane's introduction to his epic work 'The Bridge' read by Tennessee Williams, forms the base of a dramatic soundscape for an iconic hand-stencilled animation set in 1920s Brooklyn. The film design is underpinned by close study of Hart Crane’s own creative process, his ‘logic of metaphor’ and the work of New York artists in his coterie.
