A Very Large Increase in the Size, Amount, or Importance of Something Over a Very Short Period of Time attempts to merge sound and image into audiovisual oneness. Taking inspiration from early 20th century visual music experiments, this short piece employs digital animation and sound micro-editing to embody an ever-changing audiovisual creature which expresses itself through abstract shapes, sounds, movements and melodies.

Journeying through In Real Life’s otherworldly hued, colour shifting scenes, the film probes the themes of agency, a culture of sublimated violence and powerlessness in its topical social inquiry. A sense of precarity reigns when the protagonist (played by Arvida Byström) stumbles upon a YouTube instructional video featuring a woman breaking free of zip ties restraining her wrists.

Monsters was conceived as time-travel exercise, simultaneously revisiting the distant era of the dinosaurs and the more recent world of the Victorians. The Victorians built the railways and in doing so discovered fossils that challenged and contradicted Biblical accounts of Creation. These discoveries gripped and unsettled the Victorian imagination. The looming, anatomically incorrect statues that feature in this film stand in London's Crystal Palace Park and represent the Victorians' first attempts at imagining the prehistoric.

Once Canada Square takes London's financial heartland as a starting point for a surreal architectural visualisation. The film-makers used photography and field recordings distorted through digital software and their own collaborative exchange to turn the material into a seductive, graphic animation that utilises the nature of movement to explore notions of progress and development.
