“Strangers” is about a Deaf teenager in a hearing family, where communication is not clear. An interpreter arrives on her own because the social worker is held up, and suddenly the son has a voice with which to express himself, much the astonishment of his parents.

A young boy collects blackberries along a rural London path; a loner preferring the solitude of nature. A young girl approaches, offering him a handful of unripe green berries. He accepts graciously before she is escorted away by three young boys. An act of cruelty and humiliation towards the girl inspires an act of empathy and humanity from the boy.
