INDUSTRY: Meaningful Thoughts: gal-dem Film Criticism Workshop
16:00 Fri 18 Jan 2019
An interactive workshop in partnership with gal-dem that looks to nurture the next generation of women of colour and non binary people of colour film critics.
Under the watchful eye of Rebecca Liu, attendees will be guided through the review process, collectively watching a short film and talking through their ideas to form a critical piece. We invite you to collectively share, discuss and work through ideas in an encouraging environment.
Rebecca is a culture writer and film critic in London. She is a staff writer for feminist film journal Another Gaze, where she regularly reviews films, and writes broader music and arts criticism for gal-dem. Her work has also appeared in the Times Literary Supplement, the Guardian and the Financial Times.
PAY WHAT YOU CAN! Suggested donation £5, but no-one turned away for lack of funds.
HAPPY HOUR: Join us for a complimentary drink 5.30-6.30pm, courtesy of gal-dem, for casual, creative networking to continue post-panels. Share ideas and probe advice from the industry pros without hierarchy, leaving with fresh new contacts and energy renewed!
