Luscious celluloid and glitchy digital textures collide in this international compendium of experimental short film.
Showcasing distinctive new voices from across the globe, discover the psychedelic painted animation of Shunsaku Hayashi and Canadian artist filmmaker Dawn George’s unique plant-based eco-developing technique, imparting the ‘secret energies’ of fruits and vegetables onto 16mm.
Returning LSFF alumni, celluloid extraordinaire David Leister and Paul Tarragó (Paul and the Badger), present new projects alongside “anti-work” from contemporary British avant garde Stanley Schtinter, with a kaleidoscopic spirit-summoning infusion of stroboscopic light-shows, and French-Egyptian artist Susu Laroche. 'He reminded me of an unwanted relative' ....', 'He was unmemorable. A nasty piece of work.' The victims claim no recollection of his words or the following events, they each individually specified 'He made me feel alive'. -
