From unanticipated romance to the long wait for returning soldiers, these sensitively handled works look to spaces for retreat and the power in softness.

A young offender finds solace in sheep farming, whilst a sixteen year old teen recovering from a stabbing refuses to play the victim. Constraints of femininity are tested between generations of women, with voices both silenced and raised up.

Featuring the directorial debut of Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), starring Michelle Fairley (The Feed) and Steven Waddington (The Last of the Mohicans), and returning LSFF winner Myriam Raja (Top Boy) with a revelatory performance from Kiran Sonia Sawar (The Capture). Plus, listen out for a bespoke score from The Maccabees’ Hugo White.
