WHITE ROCKS
Carmen Mueck 14 mins (UK, 2019)
Three young women act out their petty differences until the arrival of a stranger tests their humanity. On a remote stretch of coast, Mara, Kate and Lois are holidaying abroad. Within their small clique, tensions and divisions have formed and Lois has become the scapegoat. The sudden arrival of a man amongst the white rocks gives Lois a way back in, but as the pecking order shifts the women find that more than status is at stake. -
SUSPENDED ISLAND
Jane and Louise Wilson 16 mins (UK, 2018)
Hinting at the current political flux and the dominant perceptions of the North East more specifically; through footage of Governor's Island and Parliament, and Vesna Maric's interpretation of refugee interviews through graffiti artwork and voice over, we address the current state of Britain at this moment of brexit. -
LISTEN TO ME SING
Isabel Garrett 12 mins (UK, 2019)
A miserable hotel performer learns to express herself when she falls in love with a walrus. -
FIELD OF INFINITY
Guli Silberstein 6 mins (UK, 2018)
Inspired by renaissance paintings and Palestinian protests at the Gaza/Israel border, Field of Infinity combines a desire for liberation, nature and rejuvenation into a dark and colourful scramble, messing with the alarming and contradicting power of images to illuminate, attract and consume. -
POMPEII
Harry Lighton / Marco Alessi / Matthew Morgan 9 mins (UK, 2019)
Tam gets on the first tube home. In just a crop-top and high-waisted jeans, he feels alone and self-conscious. Seeking diversion from the glances of other travellers, he plugs himself into his phone and begins reliving his Halloween night out via social media "stories". -
4:3
Ross Hogg 5 mins (UK, 2019)
Twelve animated projections combine to develop a rhythmic dialogue exploring the intrinsic relationship between sound, image, paint and a projector. Responding to a hand-drawn soundtrack, each projection is individually created by painting and scratching directly on 16mm film stock. -
END-O
Alice Seabright 15 mins (UK, 2019)
Jaq wants to have sex. But her Endometriosis is out to sabotage her with chronic pain and unpredictable bleeding - at the very worst time.
