One family man’s secrets reach the end of the line with a chilling performance from Emun Elliott (Prometheus), and filmmaker Georgi Banks-Davies turns a female lense to machismo culture and its capacity for self-destruction.

All attending filmmakers will be in conversation with programmer and LSFF Artistic Director, Philip Ilson. 90’

  • ANOTHER DECADE

Morgan Quaintance 27 mins (UK, 2018)

Focusing on testimonies and statements made by artists, theorists and cultural producers that are still pertinent over two decades later, the video’s production was propelled by a sense that very little socio-cultural or institutional change has taken place in the United Kingdom.
  • THEY FOUND HER IN A FIELD

Ellie Rogers 6 mins (UK, 2019)

Haunted by the death of her classmate and first love, Martha returns, ten years on, to their old meeting place. But as the memories of their relationship come flooding back, she must confront the tragic mystery that put an end to it.
  • THE FIGHT

    Georgi Banks-Davies 14 mins (UK, 2019)

A desperate immigrant cab driver picks up a drunken passenger who wants a lot more than just a ride home. Inspired by true events.
  • KINGDOM COME

Sean Dunn 18 mins (UK, 2019)

A middle class family spends the day together purchasing items in anticipation of the arrival of a new baby. We follow them into a consumerist dreamscape that soon dissolves into something nightmarish.
  • BE STILL MY BEATING HEART

Ruth Paxton 25 mins (UK, 2019)

Two adult sisters, Diana and Sarah, exist dysfunctionally, each limited by illness - one physically and the other psychologically. Be Still My Beating Heart is a nightmarish, contemporary vision capturing one woman’s experience of anxiety.
